This poem has a lot of meaning for me. It reminds me of the night I spent with the love of my life after we had broke up sitting on my porch for two hours in the rain talking about our past and hopefully our future together. The night ended perfectly with a rain and tearstained kiss that can never be duplicated or replaced. I still think of that wonderful night and I still cry because as bad as it hurts I know that things will never be the same.

I have read hundreds and hundreds of poems for GCSE, AS Level and A Level English. I have read those that friends have emailed me purposely, and I have read some for sheer enjoyment. I read poems out of anthologies, from compilations, and on the internet. But I have to say never, NOT ONCE, and I ever read a poem that evoked such emotion in me. I felt for the woman in this poem, I understood her feelings, and her loved the approach she took when describing her experience. There is only one thing I would change about "Tasting the Raindrops" and that is the author, for I wish i could say it was a work of mine. Sadly, it belongs to another.
