My husband is doing time in prison. Every letter he sends has the "Serenity Prayer" included. Every night when he calls to say good night, he tells me to look at the stars and he'll see me there. His birthday is coming up and since I cannot send gifts, I named a star for him with the Star Registry. I was looking for a poem to send with it to make it a very special birthday for him. I couldn't have found a more perfect poem. Thank you for sharing this with us. By the way, I named his star "serenity granted"

My g/f for 4 yrs harshly ended our relationship less than a week ago. We were high school sweethearts and I fear that our plans for a long distance relationship did not work out. What really hurts is the fact that I can't see a spark of warmth in her heart for me. But as a gift I had a star named after her. haven't given her the certificate yet. Perhaps I'll recite this when I present it to her. Good stuff~ It is soooo beautiful. I hope she understands how much I love her.

I love this poem. No matter what kind of mood I'm in everytime i read it I cry. It is souch a great poem. I gave it to my poem when he went away to camp for 2 weeks and when he came back he and I were so much more closer. He isn't really the type for poems, but it's setting in a little game by his bed. Everytime I go over there he usually resites a part of it. It's soo beautiful. Thank you for writing it.

my soon to be husband is locked up and very far away from home! I just gave birth to our little girl and he has yet to hold her anyways what im saying is when i read this poem it certinly sent chills down my spine. I can absolutly relate to this in every way possible. keep up the good work!

I am usually not an immense fan of poetry with a rhyme scheme but there is something about this poem that was truly soothing. I love how you incorporated the stars into this piece. Stars are one of the many beautiful things Mother Nature blessed us with, and the love you share with this person is a glorious natural beauty as well. Keep up the good work.
