Hey, I really liked your poem, it touched me, I know what it's like to loose someone like that, a really close friend, family member or heck, even a pet. I've gone through many stages in my life and I'm not even 16 yet, I'm 14. I never really had a dad, my real one left when I was only 9 days old, and I really miss him. everybody tells me how cool or mean thier father is, but I always tell them to love him because its true-you don't know what you got till it's gone. Trust me, your father is very proud of you. I had the same question when my father committed suicide when I was just 12. It was always a question of whether or not I did things to meet his approval. I'm only 23 now, but I have learned that in the eyes of a father, his little girl can do no wrong. So I'm sure the same goes for his little boy.

hey there you poem really touched me my best friend's father past away when she was nine, and this poem made me think of her. I loved this poem because I am a single mother and this poem reflects the kind of father that I want my ex to be to our daughter. I really liked this poem. It reminds me of my father who died when I was 14. Many people don't know how lucky they are to have a father until one day, all of the sudden he's gone. Not knowing what how it happen and just being left out in the cold is an awful feeling,but know no matter how hard I cry it isn't going to bring him back. Now its been a year and a half and the pain is still here and I know its never going to go away. Even though he's not here anymore I would have loved to tell him how much I loved him before he left me. People need to charish every second with there families.

My loving father died last year October 16, 2003 three days after my 20th b-day. I surely do miss him. This is a really good poem. I don't know exactly how you feel about losing your dad, but in a way I do. I haven't lost my dad, but he is in Iraq currently with the war. I haven't seen him in over a year and hardly ever get to talk to him. I miss all the things we used to do together and it makes me sad when I think about this coming May, when I graduate from High School knowing he won't be there. I don't know what I would do if I were to lose him, just him being away for so long is making me go crazy.
