About the Poem

I wrote this poem for my Grandfather, Rev. Edward Barney. Grandpa has always taught me to believe in God, and this poem is a tribute to his teachings. I thank God every day for putting someone in my life that has taught me His word.

Give Yourself Up

God can answer your prayers,
Even take away all of your cares.
Open your heart and soul,
Let God take control.

His love is unconditional,
It could never be superficial.
He'll take care of your every need,
Listen to him, and follow his lead.

Do this and to heaven you're surely to go,
With no more pain or sorrow.
