About the Poem

I know there is some Japanese poet just turning in his/her grave because I loosely refer to the following as Haiku. However, I have tried to adhere to traditional Haiku requirements: the division of 17 syllables into three groups of 5, 7, and 5 syllables - along with the inclusion of a seasonal theme. Love Poems

Haiku - Seasons

New life bursting forth
Refreshed from winter's slumber
Rejoicing in spring.

Sun toasted tourists
Fully oiled and close to done
Sweating out summer

The wind blows past me
Scattered falling leaves abound
Visiting autumn

The snow dusts my hair
Icy northern winds do blow
Surviving winter

really good poem! During the winter haiku, I could fell snow in my hair.

VERY GOOD all the other haikus I saw had not the right amount of syllables in the lines.

Fantastic poem! Unique, very descriptive. in only a few words. That's why haiku is still charished, and this poem shows why.
