Please Visit Our Special Friends

These are the sites that have sent us the most visitors in the past week, and we'd love to extend our special thanks by returning the favor to them. So, please take a moment to visit each of these web sites before you leave us today. You'll be glad you did...

Countless Horizons I don't often recommend a web site that's still under construction, but this one is different. As I write these words CH is readying their first online magazine, so they don't really have a track record yet. But if the web site is new to me, the people most certainly aren't. Most are Resident Poets at Passions, and all are active in our forums. And you could hardly hope to find better poets or more wonderful people (except maybe for that Bruce guy).

The best starts here! is their motto, and I have little doubt we'll see great things at CH.

pipTalk Poetry Forums Our main site is designed for posterity. That simply means the poetry is going to be here for a very long time and be seen by more than a million people every month. The main site is a book, albeit a constantly growing book, that people will return to again and again. Books, by their very nature, last a long time. But they also take a long time to put together.

Our pipTalk Poetry Forums are more like a magazine. The poetry posted there is darn near instant, added with the click of a button, and the feedback from readers and other poets is just as quick. We think of the forums as instant gratification. But that certainly doesn't mean you won't find some good poetry there. Indeed, many poets post their work there first, while waiting to be published on the main site.

Poets' Corner A well designed site, with a lot of great poetry. Categories include Love, Insight, and Nature, as well as a very interesting Interactive category (visitors add their own stanzas to existing poems). They also have a chat room (not terribly active the few times I was there), and a great Search feature so you can look for just the right poem to suit your needs. All in all, a very nice place to visit!
The Web Post -- Love Poems The only category here is - you guessed it - Love Poems. It's not a fancy site, which makes it easy to navigate, and you won't find hundreds and hundreds of poems (unless you visit their alphabetized Archives). But those that are there are nice ones. There's also a Top Ten feature worth checking out.
A Little Poetry A Little Poetry presents a wide variety of contemporary poetry, including poets from around the world--from famous faces to burgeoning beginners. Features include a Poet of the Week and a Poetry Site of the week.
Lovestories.com You could easily spend several days here, perusing the articles and diaries and even a recipe or two. And that's before you even get to the 12,000 poems, submitted by over 5,000 poets like you and me. Can you say WOW???
The Bridge The Bridge publishes exciting new poetry, fiction, art and photography - with the self-proclaimed distinction of being real and gutsy rather than glitzy or glamorous. This link takes you to their Current Issue (monthly), but be sure to check out the Library for a whole lot more great poetry and art.
Beyond The Mist Poetry Page This site hasn't been up long, but they're quickly building a good list of poems. Read those already posted, or submit your own.
The Amateur Poetry Journal Their front page pretty much says it all. "Discover poetry from the new talent that is rising into the new millennium. These are the poets whose voice will echo far into the future. Listen to them. Hear them. Learn from them. Find your niche in the world of publishing. Let your voice, your thoughts be heard by those entering our pages. Submit your poetry and be seen! Read our articles and Learn! Enter our contest and Win!"
The Poetry Emporium If you like cute, you'll love Andrea's home page. She features poetry by herself, by personal friends, and some submitted by people like you and I.
Pete's Best Loved Poems A wonderful collection of poetry, organized by author or title, and ranging from the famous to collections submitted by every-day people like you and I. A very nicely designed site, too. Recommended!
Electronic Poetry Center Put together by University at Buffalo, the EPC "serves as a central gateway to resources in electronic poetry and poetics produced at the University at Buffalo as well as elsewhere on the Internet." At first I thought this site was simply hard to navigate. Then I discovered they have over 23 GIG of information and poetry on line, and I realized it was simply too darn BIG. Warning - try to limit yourself to just seven or eight hours at a time or else your eyes will will be crossed like mine...
Farvin's Masterpiece Palace A *very* impressive web site, with beautiful graphics (okay, so it's a bit slow) and exquisite balance. Oh yea, there's a darn nice collection of poetry (and other stuff) lurking beneath the beauty, too!

Nan's Morsels It's not always easy to find a personal web site where the poetess is delightfully witty, insightful, and a versatile master of poetic form. It's even harder to find one with four generations of wonderful poetry to peruse.
