Passions in PoetryAdd A Classical Poem

Adding your favorite poem to our extensive database is easy. And it's very much appreciated, both by us and by our million plus monthly visitors.

You should first make sure the poem you want to submit is in the public domain. If the Classical Poet is in our database, the chances are good the poem is not protected by a copyright. Most of our poets, after all, have been dead for a few hundred years. But there are always exceptions to that rule. Robert Frost, for example, has some poems in the public domain and some still protected. We will NOT publish a poem still under copyright. That would be stealing.

To submit a poem, the only thing you really need is the Title and (duh) the poem. We try to maintain the formatting intended by the author, so by all means, include appropriate spacing.

There is also a "Notes" section for each poem (often labeled "Did you know?") and an entry for "Related Searches." You may enter these if you like, or you may choose to just skip them. To see what these look like in action, Poe's poem Annabel Lee is a good example of both.

Related Searches are designed to make it easier for our visitors to find things. They generally include words that are not PART of the poem, but rather are ABOUT the poem. For example, there is a Related Search for "limericks" so our visitors can find all the limericks we have. If you feel a Related Search applies to this poem, please enter it..

The Notes section is essentially a one or two paragraph article about the Poem, something that might add greater insight for the reader. Why did the author write it? Where was it first published? Those kinds of things.
